Aberdeen Restaurant Week 2020

Everything you need to know about Aberdeen Restaurant Week 2020 #ARW2020.

Aberdeen Restaurant Week is now one of the most popular and well-attended events in Aberdeen. The concept of Restaurant Week is fairly new to Aberdeen, but it has actually been around since 1992 in other cities such as New York. The point of Aberdeen Restaurant Week is to get people into the city, to sample our vast restaurant scene at a fraction of the usual price.

I am working with Aberdeen Inspired for the event, and I am being paid to promote and review it. However, my views remain my own and I genuinely believe it is a great event to get involved in.

When is it?

Aberdeen Restaurant Week 2020 runs from 24 February to the 1 March, for lunch and dinner.

What is it?

Restaurants over Aberdeen city centre are offering a £10 lunch menu and £20 dinner menu. Also look out for special cookery classes, tasting menus and food tours.

Which restaurants are involved?

On the line up you will find Aberdeen classics such as Ferryhill House Hotel, La Lombarda and Howies who are joining with newbies such as The Pigs Wings, Chop Bar and Grill and Hop and Anchor. With over 45 restaurants getting involved, you are bound to find somewhere you like. Find the full list of restaurants participating here.

My Recommendations

Having had a preview of the food tour running for the first time, I would highly recommend it. For £34 you visit four Aberdeen locations and all food and drink is included. Better still, the excellent tour guide is informative, fun and chatty and provides an insight into the history of the food scene in Aberdeen. For more details, head over to the Aberdeen Restaurant Week website. I’d recommend booking ASAP as spaces are limited and I think they will be a sell out.

How to decide where to dine

Myself, along with various other bloggers are reviewing the menus before to make your choice easier. This is the fifth Aberdeen Restaurant Week. Previously I have reviewed The Lounge Bar and Kitchen, Atlantis, Howies, The Pigs Wings and Carmelite.

What else do to in the City

Aberdeen Restaurant Week is all about getting into the city and enjoying what Aberdeen has to offer. Belmont film house are offering 2 for 1 tickets across the week, just use the code REST2020 when booking. Other events taking place the same week include Brendon Cole at the Music Hall on Wednesday or I would highly recommend checking out the newly refurbished Art Gallery.
